ABOUT APSC 2014The 14th Asia Pacific Submarine Conference (APSC) held from September 8th to 11th, 2014 at the Pacific Sutera in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, marked a significant milestone for the Royal Malaysian Navy, hosting its first-ever conference. Organized by the Submarine Command Headquarters, the event underscored the Navy's increasing role in regional maritime affairs. With 61 domestic and international delegations, including esteemed representatives from the Submarine Escape and Rescue International Organization (SMER), the conference fostered collaborative discussions under the theme "Enhancing Interoperability for Safety."
Led by the Chief of the Royal Malaysian Navy, the opening ceremony on September 9th, 2014, at 0930H, initiated the conference proceedings. Interactive sessions and photo opportunities facilitated networking among delegates, providing valuable insights into the deliberations.
Delegates delved into various topics such as submarine operations, safety protocols, and interoperability strategies through panel discussions, presentations, and workshops. The exchange of best practices and innovative solutions aimed to address common challenges in submarine operations and rescue missions.
